About me
I have over 25+ years of combined social work and counseling experience in successfully helping individuals, couples, and families.
Hello! I am Sylvia Ritchie. For over 25 years, I have had the opportunity to walk alongside families, couples, youth and children, helping them to learn new ways of seeing their struggles, conditions, and past traumas. I provide counseling services in-person and via telehealth. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Adlerian therapy, and Person-centered therapy models to aide in helping you to set and reach your goals. I believe that your family of origin, your worldview and your conditioning have all played a role in shaping your world. Often, these influences are very healthy, however, they can also be very dysfunctional and without your knowledge or permission, leave you with unknown “hooks” that control your life. As we work to identify dysfunctional/unhealthy "hooks,'' you can then choose to change the impact that they are having on you. Challenges and struggles are a real part of life. They cause us to grow, change, and become better at being our true selves. However, when they become overwhelming, having the right therapist to help you navigate which path is right for you is invaluable!
