About me
Aging, Relationships, Work, and Everything In Between. Let's Make Life Work Better for You. 30+ years of experience helping people manage life and themselves.
Life has a way of changing the rules just when you think you've figured things out.
Getting older can be a mixed bag. Retirement brings freedom, but sometimes a loss of purpose or identity. Relationships change, health concerns creep in, and the future doesn't always look quite like you imagined. Even good changes can leave you wondering, "Now what?"
And then there's family. Aging parents need more help, adult children have lives and challenges of their own, and relationships that worked for decades suddenly feel complicated. You may find yourself making decisions you never expected to face, juggling everyone's needs, or wondering how to help someone you love without taking over their life. Sometimes it's hard to know where your responsibilities end and someone else's begin.
Work brings its own challenges. Managers and business owners can find themselves carrying responsibility for everyone and everything, with little time or energy left for themselves. Balancing work, family, and personal well-being isn't always easy, especially when the demands keep changing.
And you don't have to be older, managing a team, or running a business to feel overwhelmed by life. Anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationship problems, and struggles with self-esteem can make everyday challenges harder. Add an unexpected change, a difficult relationship, or a nagging sense that something just isn't right, and it's enough to make anyone ask, "Where's the instruction manual for life!?"
There isn't one. But you don't have to figure everything out alone.
I'm a psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience helping adults navigate life's challenges, relationships, and transitions. I have a particular interest in working with older adults adjusting to aging and retirement—or their family members. But I also focus much of my work on individuals who are hyperachievers: managers of people, executives and business owners dealing with stress, leadership challenges, and work-life balance, and students who find themselves at the very beginning of trying to figure it all out.
My private practice, Artwell & Clarity, is built around a simple mission: *Supporting people and organizations in the art of living life well and with clarity.
My approach is practical, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based psychotherapy. Together, we'll look at what's happening in your life, explore patterns that may be getting in your way, and build on the strengths and resources you already have.
We might work on setting healthier boundaries, improving communication, navigating complicated family or workplace relationships, managing anxiety or depression, or finding new direction and purpose. Sometimes the work is about making changes. Other times, it's about understanding yourself and others more clearly and finding better ways to live with what life brings.
You can't always control what life hands you. But you can have a say in what happens next.
Let's work toward a life that feels more manageable, meaningful, and genuinely your own.
