About me
A Jungian psychotherapist, I work with individuals, couples and adolescents to help them listen for their own messages buried deep in their selves. This is a collaborative relationship focusing not only on current difficulties but on past experiences and future possibilities.
As a Jungian psychotherapist I believe that our deep interior selves, the psyche, wants us to learn more about ourselves and our relationships. With that foundation I draw from several theoretical approaches, focus on clients feelings and beliefs and have often witnessed the importance of the emergence of the symbolic in our lives.
I have always found the more relational and emotionally based this work is then the more rewarding and successful it is for clients and myself. I work with a wide range of clients. Their basic desire is to connect with themselves and others. Of late, it seems, many of my clients are couples; men ; adolescents; and mid-life and elderly of both sexes. Each are addressing important problems and/or transitional stages of life. Our work can be fearful and/or fearless, exciting and/or slow and always the challenge of facing not-knowing, making choices and exploring ourselves.
In this day and age of the fast and quick--Long term, client centered, depth oriented, let's take a real good look, psychotherapy seems a creature of the distant past. Yet it is what allows us to better discover ourselves and our relationships.
If so desired, I certainly do provide a briefer problem solving type of approach. I teach graduate level psychotherapy and provide clinical supervision to interns and graduate school trainees.
