About me
We are experiencing extraordinary challenges right now. I personally understand and professionally appreciate the multitude of stressors that people are facing these days. Life typically demands much of us. Today in this fast paced society the demands are unparalleled. Depression and anxiety run rampant impacting the quality of our lives on all levels.
I treat adult and adolescent age males and females in my 50+ years in practice conducting individual, couple, family and group sessions. My goal is to help my clients to transform their lives achieving greater balance, harmony, satisfaction and happiness.
My wife and I have been together for nearly 50 years. We have been graced with three offspring in their 40's and blessed with two delightful grandchildren. I offer my experience as a professional who has personal experience as a family man who understands and appreciates what it takes to make relationships work, flourish and last.
My philosophical foundation is centered in Humanistic Existentialism while my therapeutic orientation is based in Mindfulness Training and is an eclectic blend of Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic processes.
It’s my intention to provide a safe and comfortable space for my clients to experience freedom of expression while addressing their issues and accessing their pain. It’s my goal that you will achieve physical, mental and emotional well-being while gaining insight and attaining mindful self-awareness.
I work with clients who may be in crisis or at least struggling with disorders of mood and personality as a result of unremitting stress and the tendency to feel overwhelmed. During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back on track. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.
In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. We will focus on how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to change your thoughts, to transform your feelings thereby enhancing the quality of your life.
For the past 40 years of my 55 years in practice I have also specialized in supporting males of all ages in addressing their issues. My expertise in Male Psychology has allowed me to assist my clients in attaining a more conscious and mature masculinity allowing for vastly improved life style results.
I have additional expertise as an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider. I combine my personal and professional background in helping individuals with neurobiological conditions in improving their executive functioning in the world.
