I find so much joy in helping people find the courage to face and overcome difficult challenges! I specialize in trauma recovery, reducing symptoms of PTSD and Complex-PTSD and work with adults over the age of 18.

I think there is something beautiful and inspiring about participating in another person’s healing journey and growth. I enjoy helping people find new ways of coping with adversity, developing ways to manage intense emotions, build healthier, stronger relationships and participate in activities that make their lives enjoyable and meaningful. Since 2003, I have worked in a variety of treatment settings with adolescents and adults. I have Master’s degrees in Social Work with an emphasis on mental health, and Counseling with an emphasis on career counseling. I am a Certified Advanced Drug and Alcohol Counselor and licensed in the state of Michigan.

Some people come therapy starting from a solid foundation, needing a little extra time and space to work towards a better balance for the complex demands and transitions that life brings. Others seek therapy as a nearly last resort, after multiple traumatic events, unsatisfying relationships and all other attempts to build a life worth living seem to have failed. I help people make sense of their experiences, find meaning in the presence of struggles, build stronger, healthier relationships and find loving compassion for themselves. I take an integrative approach to wellness, recognizing that many strategies people use to cope with traumatic situations and overwhelming feelings developed for understandable reasons. When those coping strategies are no longer useful or in fact start to cause other problems, we all have the capacity to learn new ways of being and continue to heal and grow.
