About me
I am an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor who is dedicated to helping individuals with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma/ptsd, and life transitions.
When you have spent years moving through spaces that were not built for people who look like you, love like you, or carry what you carry, therapy can feel like one more place to translate yourself. I am Sierra, a Licensed Professional Counselor working with children (9+), adolescents, adults, and seniors across New Jersey. With 13 years in mental health, I specialize in trauma, grief, self-worth, and the weight of navigating racial, cultural, or LGBTQIA+ identity. My approach is collaborative, holistic, and trauma-informed: I follow your lead, honor your cultural context, and offer a space where your full story is welcome.
In our sessions, we examine how past experiences and the systems around you have shaped who you are today, then work from your strengths to shift what no longer serves you. We might build skills to manage overwhelming emotions, process what the body has held for years, or find clarity on where you want to go. The work is grounded, practical, and adaptable.
You do not have to know where to start or arrive with the right words. What matters is that you are here. In my experience, people who seek a genuinely affirming, culturally aware space often have not had one before. I would be glad to offer that for you. Reach out when you are ready, and we will take the next step together.
