About me

Sherissa is an experienced Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a strong foundation in Psychology from Cal State Long Beach and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. With 15 years of experience, she has worked in diverse settings, including residential group homes as a behavior management assistant and a therapeutic middle school during her practicum. Sherissa is passionate about providing affordable, compassionate, client-centered care, helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling lives.

“I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become.” – Carl Jung

Life can feel overwhelming, and it’s not always easy to navigate the challenges that come our way. Whether you or your child are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral challenges, or adjusting to life transitions, support is available. I understand how difficult it can be to face these experiences, and I’m here to help.

As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. I provide affordable therapy with a sliding scale fee of $55-$75 per session, because I believe quality mental health care should be accessible to everyone. I offer both in-person sessions at my offices in Tustin and Laguna Hills and virtual sessions for your convenience.

My approach is experiential, meaning we’ll actively engage in the therapeutic process rather than simply talking through challenges. Using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I will help you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns. I also incorporate mindfulness-based strategies to support emotional regulation, reduce stress, and build resilience. For children and adolescents, I often integrate play therapy to help them express emotions and process experiences in a developmentally appropriate way. Additionally, I take a holistic approach that recognizes the mind-body connection, promoting overall well-being.

Together, we’ll explore your experiences, uncover strengths, and develop effective coping skills. My goal is to empower you to navigate challenges with confidence and create the life you want. You don’t have to go through this alone — I’m here to support you every step of the way.

If you’re ready to take the first step toward healing and growth, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
