About me
I am an experienced licensed counselor with dedication and compassion to helping others through troubling times that may consist of anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, behavior issues, and other concerns.
Are you having a challenging time coping with life's stressors, anxiety, depression, trauma, etc.? Taking the first step to acquire help is difficult, but you have made the right choice. I am one step away from assisting you with overcoming any mental blocks and barriers with various skills to manage issues with depression, life transitions, anxiety, traumatic experiences, etc. You are the expert of your story and will be provided with a safe space to discover or rediscover your strengths and treated with respect, sensitivity, and compassion.
I am a licensed professional counselor with the dedication and compassion to helping others through troubling times that may consist of issues that range from anxiety, life transitions, grief, depression, relationship issues, trauma, anger, behavior and conduct issues, and many other concerns in varying age groups ranging from earlier childhood, teens, adolescent, and older. I provide individual, couples, and family therapy as well as group therapy upon request. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. As aforementioned I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with countless hours of training. I am also a National Certified Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. In addition to these licenses and certifications, I am also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis. I have completed numerous trainings to continue to outfit myself with many concepts and approaches to helping my clients acquire more appropriate and efficient skills/ tools. I have been working in private practices since 2014 but have been providing counseling and support services for over 10 years in various settings. I have worked and continue to work in areas that consist of Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Mental health disorders, Conduct/ Behavior issues, Substance abuse, and many more areas.
It may seem so impossible to deal with these concerns and escape from the overpowering feelings that may seem so troublesome. However, working together, I can help guide your mental health journey by equipping you with more appropriate tools to work through these issues. I will help you learn how to manage the challenges that seem so difficult to overcome on your own. My goal is to help my clients facilitate their own growth, modifying the thoughts that may in turn regulate the behaviors/ actions, and overcoming the barriers you feel that are hindering your life. My focus is to also help you gain, or re-gain, your power to endorse meaningful changes in your life in a safe and accepting space. I use approaches that are eclectic and consolidative, strength-based, as well as goal and action oriented. Some of the approaches I may use consist of cognitive therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, behavior therapy/ behavior modification, ACT (Acceptance commitment therapy), and Dialectical behavior therapy, just to name a few.
You have already taken the first step with starting your journey of healing, growing, being resilient, and having a healthier mental state. Let’s continue your journey and work towards your positive state of being. I look forward to hearing from and working with you!
