About me
We are a counseling group practice situated in a quiet, tranquil, ranch-like setting in Bulverde TX. We work with children, teens and adults. We do a great deal of work with our military, from active duty to separating, to veteran status. We work with individuals, couples, families, and intergenerationally. We use trauma informed and science based treatment strategies.
The focus on Smithson Valley Counseling Center Inc. is first and foremost, our clients. We offer client centered therapies, to teach improved life skills all the way through the treatment of complex trauma. We are comprised of Licensed Marriage Family Therapists (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Licensed LMFT-Associates, LPC-Associates, and counseling Interns, who are able to offer services at a reduced rate.
We are open Monday through Saturday to accommodate as much flexibility as possible to be available to meet our clients' scheduling needs.
We also offer play therapy, art therapy, and group therapy. Our clinicians are trained in EMDR, ART, the Gottman Method, IFS, CBT, CPT, RET, Communication Theory, DBT, and others, We believe the more we know, the more we can adjust our therapy to meet the needs of our clients.
We do work with young children, but in the context of parent education and parenting skills development. We also have staff that have experience working in and with the schools, so we can also assist families struggling with academics, bullying, and other education related concerns.
