About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor is particularly passionate about serving adults with many backgrounds, including diverse populations, and dedicated to helping Individuals with anxiety, depression, loss and grief, trauma and PTSD, personality disorders, ADHD, dual diagnosis, self-harm, stress, shame and guilt, self-talk and self-esteem, coping skills, executive functioning skills and the mindset.
I specialize in a person- centered approach that is individualized for the person that struggles with mental barriers. What I value about my work is courage, presence, goodwill, genuineness, compassion, and a belief in the therapy process. I support recognition of the individual’s distress in their desire to change and flourish by the means of listening, validating, and encouraging - through a supportive, nonjudgmental, compassionate, and caring perspective. I value honesty, fairness, forgiveness, connectedness, individualization, and perspective. Well, I support the legacy the person is fighting for by helping reclaim and re own life. I provide understanding and validation because everyone has a story, and I am passionate to hear yours and feel honored to be a part of your journey through life and feel privileged to be a part of your change when it happens. If you are facing mental barriers, I’m the counselor who can assist with developing goals where you can expand your journey in the desired areas of self-development, personal growth, strengths, reframing self-talk and the mindset, and knowing yourself and your purpose through your personal resilience, self-reflection and self-empowerment.
I am trained in a variety of evidenced-based therapeutic approaches and use a person-centered approach to meet the client’s needs. In session, I focuses on the client’s personal journey through life by providing a safe and supportive environment to help the client develop individualized skills and strategies to increase their cognitive restructuring (processing and regulating emotion experiences). This approach supports clients to open doorways leading to their path for personal growth while implementing tools and skills to eliminate or decrease the doubts and worries.
My style/approach is free of judgment, full of compassion, and dedicated to helping client’s discover how to break through mental barriers limiting results and guide their true potential when life throws them a curve ball. When a client first comes in, I am passionate about learning and growing beside a client when struggling with mental barriers and interested in contributing to developing goals to remove those anxieties, worries, doubts, and fears. I am dedicated to providing a relationship that is free of judgment.
I have received and gained experience in multiple mental health areas from applied behavior approaches to mental health approaches to substance use recovery approaches which enables a wide range of skills and tools to better cope with everyday stressors and meet emotional needs to maintain and find balance in the client’s mental health journey. I Believe in the growth process. I continue to gain knowledge to better help my client's. I am certified as a professional provider in grief and loss, trauma and PTSD, personality disorders, and am an ADHD certified clinical services provider.
I provide my services through my private practice, Journey through life counseling LLC, offering distance mental health therapy using electronic methods, which include audio and video communication, including the addition of social media and other technology assisted devices that involves providing mental wellbeing services and support over the internet. Services can be offered through email, text messaging, videoconferencing, online chat, messaging, internet phone, and/or other electronic applications (that meet Federal and State legal requirements). I am a certified clinical tele-mental health provider trained to engage in technology assisted services that meet the required continuing education listed in the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) and training (scope of practice, knowledge, and competency) according to TAC, Rule §801.58.
I strongly believe you should feel comfortable with a professional clinician you choose and hopeful about the therapy. When you feel this way, therapy is more likely to be most helpful to you. The most central ideas is treating you with dignity, compassion, and respect. You have a story to tell, worthy of being told and heard.
