About me
Shawn Beard, MA, NCC, LPC, proprietor of New U by Design, is a Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor, Strengthsbased Family Worker, and Nationally Certified Counselor specializing in individual, couples and family therapy.
With several years experience as a therapist, and as a graduate of Waynesburg University specializing in working with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and Stages of Life Changes; Shawn Beard is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad range of clients. Among his areas of expertise are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Informed Care. Shawn has presented at various groups and to general audiences speaking on topics including procrastination, assertive communication skills, fair fighting techniques, interpersonal communication skills, and identifying and replacing ill-conceived rule sets. Shawn is an interactive, solution-focused therapist whose therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. He integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, he works with individuals to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to and capable of accomplishing. Shawn also provides business and life coaching services.
