About me

My approach to therapy: I bring my most authentic self into the session, because as a black, queer, woman, I know how often our voices are silenced. As a member of the marginalized community, I know first hand what it's like to be an outsider. I help clients connect more to their culture, gain insight to intergenerational trauma and how to rely on our parts for healing.

I work with an individuals, couples and groups. I wan to help you live your best life. What we know if we are all meant to be in connection and relationship with one another and that's the lens I view therapy. Attachment based, authenticity affirming. Let me walk along side you, as you peel back the layers and uncover your best version. Putting others first or work first might come easy but you've started searching for a reason. I believe that everyone’s story is valid and that healing happens through connection, curiosity, and compassion.

As a licensed professional counselor, I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, LGBTQ+, BIPOC and the unique experiences of being neurodivergent. Whether you’re seeking clarity, coping strategies, or simply a place to be yourself without judgment, I’m here to walk alongside you. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I honor your lived experience and center our work around what matters most to you. Together, we’ll explore your goals, challenges, and inner resources with the aim of helping you feel more grounded, empowered, and connected.

I’d be honored to support you on your journey. **Immediate availability on-line in TEXAS**

A bit about me;

I’m Shaundrella (Shaun) Gandy, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (Texas/#98032). Supervised by Maria Reyna (Texas /#68198). I received my master’s degree in clinical mental health from the Seminary of the Southwest, where I trained to work with clients across the lifespan. I work primarily with older teens and adults and specialize in supporting neurodivergent individuals, those navigating anxiety, life transitions, and parenthood including adoption. In my work, I lean into Relational Cultural Theory because I genuinely believe that healing happens through connection—not in isolation. For me, therapy isn’t just about fixing problems; it’s about building a relationship where you feel safe, heard, and understood. Together, we look at your life, your relationships, and the stories you carry—not to judge, but to see how they’ve shaped who you are today. My hope is that through our work, you can experience what it feels like to show up authentically, feel supported, and discover new, healthier ways to relate to yourself and the world around you.

I’m affirming of all identities and committed to creating a space that respects your communication style, sensory needs, and lived experience. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy recharging with good books, long walks, trying new crafts and the occasional binge-worthy TV show.
