About me
Hi welcome to Inspiring Hope Therapy, I am a National Board Certified and Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Arizona. I am passionate trauma therapist specializing in EMDR. I believe that my purpose in counseling is to help people find hope and build strength to walk through the challenges of life and I’ve done so for over 10 years now.
I decided to specialize in working with trauma because I have been through a lot of trauma myself, and I know that these are the type of wounds that we sometimes try to hide from other, we might feel shame from what has happened to us, but we shouldn’t, it wasn’t our fault, we didn’t cause what happened to us. Maybe we haven’t ever told anyone what happened to us because we have been too afraid to tell someone because the person who hurt us is someone close to us, someone who should have protected us, or someone who is in a position of power over us, that’s very scary or we don’t think anyone will believe us. I will believe you.
Trauma is subjective, what is traumatic to one person may not be to another, so nobody can tell you what is or isn’t traumatic. These wounds may affect the trajectory of a person's life in countless ways. Trauma may cause emotional, interpersonal and relational challenges and affect your school work, employment and financial freedoms.
I work with people in all walks of life. I have worked with a variety of populations: children, adolescents, young college age, adults, individuals with substance abuse and co-occurring diagnoses. I really enjoy providing EMDR therapy and have witnessed incredible transformations. I utilize a variety of methods. I really enjoy working with couples and families as well.
I want to help you through your journey, to come walk with you through the darkness so you can find a reason to smile again. We all have our own story to tell. My story has had many storms, but I've come through my personal storms and I'm walking in the light, there are still showers now and again, but I have a good umbrella and a smile. I'd love to help.
