I’m Shannon Watson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of S. Watson Counseling Services. My work is rooted in compassion, clinical expertise, and real-life experience. I don’t just understand mental health from a professional perspective—I understand it from a human one.

As an African American woman, Army National Guard veteran, divorced mother, and someone who has navigated co-parenting, relationship challenges, and personal hardship, I bring depth, relatability, and authenticity into the therapy space. I know what it means to carry responsibility, push through adversity, and still show up for others—and that perspective allows me to connect with my clients in a way that feels genuine, not clinical or distant.
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, trauma, and relationship challenges, including domestic violence and narcissistic abuse. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while also incorporating creative, developmentally appropriate interventions such as art, play, and music-based techniques—especially when working with younger clients.
What truly sets my practice apart is the environment I create. Clients often tell me they feel safe, seen, and understood from the moment they walk in. My goal is not just to provide therapy, but to create a space where healing feels possible, growth feels supported, and change feels realistic.
I believe therapy should be both empowering and practical. Together, we work to identify patterns, build emotional regulation skills, strengthen coping strategies, and restore a sense of control and confidence in your life.
