About me
I am a mental health counselor specializing in working with people who speak বাংলা from all ages, including children on the autism spectrum, adults with special abilities, individuals who identify as BIPOC, and LGBTQiA+ I have 10 years experience as a school counselor, autism therapist, psychiatric volunteer, admin assistant, & summer camp counselor. I understand that life can become overwhelming in stressful times, along with deep-rooted trauma. My work here is to support your healing process through talk therapy, with confidentiality in mind. During our initial call, I will introduce myself and get to know you as well!
I value myself as a strength-based counselor. I am inspired by holistic pathways to healing. I am passionate about integrating the present moment with mindfulness, meditation, movement, art, music, voice, & dance as doorways towards freeing yourself. It is rooted in a simple, yet profound intention: to support you in mastering your own sense of peace.
I invite you to move beyond the past by simply talking about your life—and into experiencing it with greater presence and awareness. I believe that lasting change happens when professional knowledge is paired with lived experience. I provide a welcoming, cheerful, and empathetic aura and hold a safe space, where you can feel comfortable to be your real self.
I provide client-centered therapy with an AEDP framework, then utilize specific therapeutic interventions as I see fit. With unconditional positive regard, active listening skills, and being mindful of the present, you will notice feelings and memories that are coming up for you in the moment. We will process each emotion, simplifying it into steps; with one session and breath at a time.
During our first session, I will get to know you and your reason for seeking services. We will create treatment objectives together, then work on your goals with each session. My former clients have expressed that they experienced significant progress over the course of our extensive time working together. Our goal thereafter is to maintain peace for self.
I have accumulated 10 years of professional knowledge from school, home, & hospital settings working with children and families providing ABA therapy.
