About me
I am a licensed clinical social worker and addiction specialist with over 15 years of practice experience, dedicated to helping adults work through anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions using evidence-based, culturally grounded care.
Hi, I'm Dr. Lavi.
I have been a social worker since 2006. My work has always centered on one question: what does real healing look like when it accounts for the whole person, including what the body carries and what culture demands?
I hold licensure as a clinical social worker and clinical addiction specialist in North Carolina, with licensure pending in South Carolina and Connecticut. My doctoral training sharpened my focus on how distress shows up differently depending on who a person is and what they have been taught to tolerate. That lens shapes every session.
My practice, Knoll Mind, LLC, is fully telehealth. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and the weight of simply doing too much for too long. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, somatic approaches, and mindfulness-based practices. No single method fits every person. I pay attention to what you actually need.
I am also an Associate Professor at North Carolina Central University, where I teach and research diagnostic bias and the somatic experiences of Black women. That academic work informs my clinical work. The two are not separate.
Knoll Mind is a place to put some of it down.
