About me
I am a NY-state licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with years of clinical and teaching experience across multiple settings (outpatient clinic, schools, hospitals, juvenile detention). I specialize in the treatment of trauma of all kinds, including early childhood abuse, attachment disruptions, sexual assault, as well as chronic traumatic exposure that occurs secondary to systemic oppression. In addition, I work with clients (ages 13+) who experience emotional reactivity, mood disorders, ADHD-related symptoms and anxiety.
In addition to my private practice, I am an adjunct professor at NYU School of Medicine and St John's University, as well as the Senior Supervising Psychologist for a mental health team providing trauma-informed services within the NYC juvenile justice system. I provide direct clinical care to adolescents and young adults that are currently incarcerated, and help to support re-entry into the community.
My clinical approach is strength and relationship-based. I draw on multiple tools for healing, with the ultimate treatment trajectory guided by your unique needs. Therapy sessions are an opportunity to explore the edges of our tolerance. And while therapy can be 'serious business', it can also be a place of creativity, movement, and even humor. I arrive to sessions as authentically human and take responsibility to self-reflect and increase my understanding of all aspects of my clients’ identity. My aim is to be a supportive guide who honors the customs that may already be established as natural resources to build upon.
