About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who helps adults navigate life transitions — from young adulthood and career changes to pregnancy, postpartum, and anxiety — through warm, collaborative telehealth therapy.

Hi, I'm Sarah — a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and the founder of SonderGrace Counseling PLLC, a telehealth-only practice serving adults across Illinois.

I started this practice around a simple belief: life's hardest transitions can become turning points. Whether you're navigating young adulthood, stepping into parenthood, changing careers, or sitting with the quiet feeling that something needs to shift, you don't have to figure it out alone.

Who I work with

My practice centers on adults moving through major life transitions. I have particular experience with college and graduate students finding their footing, and with new and expecting mothers navigating the profound identity shift of pregnancy and postpartum. I also work with anxiety in its many forms — the racing thoughts, the worst-case spirals, the tension you carry in your body.

I bring cultural humility to every session, including a deep familiarity with the Asian American experience, and I welcome clients of all backgrounds and identities.

What working together looks like

My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded. I won't hand you generic advice or sit back silently — we'll work together to understand what's happening, why it matters, and what moving forward actually looks like for you. I draw on evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs, because therapy works best when it feels like a genuine human connection, not a formula.

Practical details

All sessions are held over secure video, so there's no commute and no waiting room — just show up as you are, from wherever you are in Illinois. I'm in-network with BCBS Illinois, Aetna, and UnitedHealthcare, and I also offer self-pay options.

I'm currently welcoming new clients to my waitlist for early 2027. If something here resonates, I'd love to hear your story — reach out and let's start the conversation.
