About me

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor who helps thoughtful, sensitive adults quiet the anxiety, depression, and chronic stress that come from years of putting your true self last.

Hi! I'm Sarah Rossmiller, a Licensed Professional Counselor with 15+ years of experience. I work with thoughtful, sensitive, sometimes-cynical adults — people managing anxiety, depression, chronic stress, late-diagnosed ADHD or autism traits, and the long shadow of relational trauma. I also walk alongside clients through major life changes, grief, and loss, helping them find solid ground on the other side.

Many of my clients are self-sacrificers by habit — the ones who show up for everyone else and quietly run on empty. If that's you, part of our work together will likely include building boundaries that actually stick, not just ones that sound good in theory.

My approach & specialties:

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS/parts work), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — tailored to what you actually need, not a one-size-fits-all protocol. At heart, I'm an existential-humanist, which just means I care about who you really are, not some polished, fixed-up version.

Life gets messy, and you don't need to have it all sorted out before you show up. We move at whatever speed feels right for your nervous system — no quick fixes, no squeezing you into a shape that isn't yours. I'm also flexible in how sessions unfold: some days we dig deep using structured tools like CBT or schema work, other days we just talk. Therapy here isn't a script — it's a real conversation doing a lot of quiet work underneath.

I specialize in:

Anxiety and generalized worry
Depression
Chronic stress and burnout
Relational and childhood trauma
Grief and major life transitions
Late-diagnosed ADHD and autism in adults
Boundary-setting and people-pleasing patterns
Perfectionism and self-esteem

(Bonus: my cat sometimes joins sessions — she's an unofficial co-therapist, excellent at modeling relaxing and not overthinking anything.)

What to expect in our first session:

I mostly want to hear your story — there's no checklist to run through. Rapport-building comes first, and most clients tell me it feels less like "doing therapy" and more like talking to someone who actually gets it. By the end, they're often surprised by how much has shifted without it feeling forced.

A little more about me:

I'm licensed in Texas and Minnesota, and I offer online, telehealth sessions only. If you're tired of holding it all together alone, or tired of putting everyone else's needs ahead of your own, I'd love to hear your story.
