About me
I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in DC, Maryland and Virginia, Delaware. My experiences have focused on providing services to clients whom their life has been impacted by trauma. I also provide psychotherapy services to address other concerns including anxiety, depression and ADHD.
I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Behavioral and Community Health in 2012 from University of Maryland College Park and later attended The Catholic University of America, where I earned my master’s degree with honors in Social Work. I understand that therapy is a vulnerable experience. As a clinician, I place a great value in my client’s ability to trust their therapist as an ally, while actively working together on creating a non-judgmental, safe space for my client to heal and grow as I also believe that feeling safe in a therapeutic environment is crucial for the client’s success.
Due to living a life full of varied experiences, I am able to easily relate to my client’s unique requests while providing culturally sensitive care for their specific needs. My passion and empathy to help others has always been my guide to provide best services to my clients. During my tenure in the field of social services, I have supported many individuals from diverse backgrounds and practiced in variety of settings including Advocacy Programs, Residential, Non-Profit Agencies, Government Agencies and College setting.
My clinical experiences have provided me with the opportunity to work through the most challenging cases, while applying a comprehensive and culturally appropriate approach. Additionally, as a bilingual therapist, fluent in English and Farsi, I understand the importance of multicultural sensitivity during treatment. I am, therefore, proud to provide psychotherapy services to the Farsi speaking community as well. Overall, my compassion, my unique life experiences as well as my extensive training has helped me become a more effective therapist, who strives to create a comfortable, safe, and non-judgmental environment to serve as a guide in my client’s healing and growth journey while they reach their fullest life potential.
