About me
I am an experienced counselor who loves helping clients gain focus and mastery, and connection to their lives, emotions, relationships, and activities.
Hi! I’m Sara, a Licensed Professional Counselor with nearly 20 years of experience supporting people in the Kansas City area with anxiety, attention challenges, and stress related to school, work, and big life transitions. I work primarily with thoughtful, self-aware women (including trans women, obvs) and non-binary individuals who are looking for meaningful change—even if they’re not totally sure where to start yet.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck, burned out, or disconnected from their focus or motivation. Together, we’ll explore what’s getting in your way, identify patterns that aren’t working anymore, and build practical tools to support your mental health, clarity, and overall sense of balance.
My approach is collaborative, client-led, and grounded in an anti-racist and anti-oppression framework. I use an integrative style that may include movement, creative expression, mindfulness, and basic nutritional education—depending on what feels supportive and accessible to you. Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all; we adapt the process to fit your needs, energy, and goals.
I believe growth doesn’t have to happen in a stiff office chair. I’m not a “clipboard and couch” kind of therapist, and as therapy progresses, sessions may take place outdoors, in the community, or in real-world environments that reflect where your life is actually happening. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, capable, and connected as you move through this chapter of your life.
