About me
My therapy style is relational and interactive, grounded primarily in CBT, DBT, and ACT frameworks. This means I'm equipped with evidence-based concepts and tools - but together we’ll filter it through the lens of your unique identities, strengths, challenges, and environment.
We can process what hurts about the past or causes anxiety about the future. We can role-play conversations with a loved one - or between conflicting parts of yourself. We can try a new skill to calm your racing heart or quiet your inner critic. And we'll get meta about the therapy process itself, so I can adapt in real time to be most supportive.
Therapy is a third career of sorts for me, with prior jobs in journalism and policy. I've seen first-hand how stigma and shame make people hesitant to seek out necessary care – particularly LGBTQ+ clients and clients who identify as disabled, chronically ill, and/or neurodivergent. I aim to be a supportive/affirming therapist for these communities.
Everyone has a different comfort level with talk therapy. Please bring journal entries or art, play me relevant movie clips or songs, pull tarot cards, talk in metaphors - whatever helps you communicate, process, and reflect. I'm here to provide the level of structure, pacing, and talking that you need... one session at a time.
