About me
My name is Sara. I have 13 years of experience in healthcare and have been practicing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. It is my goal to understand, to the best of my ability, who you are, where you have been, where you want to be, and to help you get there. Every individual is different. My style is to collaborate with you to create a holistic, evidence-based plan that fits your values and needs. I provide brief psychotherapy in conjunction with medication management. Recovery is possible with time, effort, and the right tools.
I’m a big believer in progress over perfection, starting small, and always weighing the risks and benefits of recommended medications to make sure your medication trial is “worth it” for you and that you understand what you are putting into your body. Past work experiences include as a registered nurse at Austin State Hospital, Seton Shoal Creek Hospital, and as a research coordinator in the Neurology department at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. I have served as a nurse practitioner on an assertive community treatment team, in federally qualified healthcare centers, in skilled facilities.
