About me
Hi, I’m Sandra Smith, a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I earned my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018. I specialize in supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, generational trauma, life transitions, and the unique challenges that come with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
My approach is simple: create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can share your story, at your own pace, in your own way. I believe healing happens when we feel truly heard and understood.
In our sessions, I take a collaborative, client-centered approach. That means I listen attentively, help you identify areas of growth, and together we’ll set meaningful, personalized goals that support healing, empowerment, and lasting positive change.
I do this work because:
- I have seen firsthand the impact of generational trauma.
- I have a child with autism, which fuels my passion for advocating and providing mental health support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities—a group often overlooked in the mental health world.
- My strong background in crisis counseling and intervention taught me how resilient people truly are, even in their hardest moments.
But outside of my professional role, I’m a regular person too! In my free time, you’ll find me crocheting, reading, cooking, spending time with family, or playing with my cats 🐾. I believe life is about balance, and I encourage my clients to discover the small joys that keep them grounded.
At the core, I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and live their best life. If you’re ready to take that step, I’d be honored to walk alongside you in your journey.
