About me

I believe in a person's ability to make their life as full and rich as they want it to be. Therapy can help you get what you need and want in your relationships, work, and other areas of life. I am easy to talk to and bring a lot of warmth and caring to therapy. I specialize in treating trauma, relationships, grief, depression, and more generally, in helping people get past whatever barriers are keeping them from living the life they want.

I've been providing psychotherapy for twenty-nine years. I am passionate about this work and have helped many people change their lives for the better. I have had a thriving private practice in Washington, DC (with an office in the Palisades, just outside of Georgetown) for the last 17 years and opened an additional practice location in downtown Easton, MD in 2024. I am well trained in and utilize effective techniques from various approaches to psychology/psychotherapy, but principally identify with a Humanistic approach. I believe CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy often is necessary but not sufficient in clients’ achieving and maintaining their goals, and that the relationship of healing inherent in the humanist approaches fills that void.

I see individuals, couples, families, and group therapy, can do psychological evaluations for a variety of issues, and can provide hypnotherapy for specific client needs. I primarily work with teens and adults of all ages and am supportive of all identities, and I work to stay well educated about different cultures and ways of being.
