About me
Thank you for taking the time to share your story. My name is Ruth Racz, and I am an Alabama-licensed Professional Counselor. Since earning my Master’s Degree from Troy University in 2011, I have spent 15 years providing full-time, dedicated care within a community mental health setting. In 2023, I brought this foundational experience to the BetterHelp platform. My extensive clinical background includes evaluating and treating complex mental health concerns such as depression, severe anxiety, trauma, psychotic disorders, family and relationship conflicts, and co-occurring diagnoses.
My approach to counseling is collaborative, down-to-earth, and highly interactive. Rather than rigid clinical lecturing, our time together will feel like a genuine conversation. I combine the practical frameworks of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Reality Therapy with the centering practices of mindfulness to tailor support to your unique life choices.
Outside of my practice, my foundations are rooted in my 29-year marriage and raising our three sons, who are now 26, 23, and 11. I recognize that entering therapy requires immense courage. In this space, there is no judgment—only room for you to be authentic as you take these vital steps toward long-term personal growth.
