About me
I am a Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor who has experience in treating adults who presents with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD and trauma.
I use an integrated approach to therapy, which means I vary my techniques/interventions based on individual needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused and Mindfulness-Based interventions are the interventions I most often use with clients. I am a certified clinical trauma specialist and have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
To help clients meet their goals, I listen empathically and work with clients to set measurable goals. I use periodic assessments to help clients track and monitor their progress towards meeting goals. I received a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health from Bradley University and a Master's in Education from Texas Woman's University. Clients will walk away from their first session with clear goals and an understanding of the treatment approach I will use to help them meet their goals.
