About me

Experienced counselor who supports people of color coping with trauma, depression and anxiety and navigating systems and change.

What's your story? I ask because my approach to psychotherapy isn’t about what’s “wrong” with you but about what’s happened in your life to shape who you are and how you see the world. In our work together, we’ll explore your story with compassion and curiosity, and begin reshaping it in ways that support your healing, growth, and sense of wholeness.

My practice:
At Muse & Grace, we believe every story holds the power to heal and transform. We use evidence-based psychotherapy including expressive arts to support mental, emotional, and relational well-being—especially for Black women, their families, and communities of color.

We offer psychotherapy, wellness support, and experiential workshops for adults and adolescents—individuals, couples, families, groups, and corporate partners. Whether you’re seeking support for depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, or professional stress, we create space for you to feel seen, heard, and supported.

Rooted in cultural humility and an understanding of the systems that shape your life, we offer a safe and affirming space to deepen self-reflection, reconnect with your strengths, and build resilience.

Your story matters—and we’re here to help you reclaim and live it with confidence and purpose.

Muse & Grace offers virtual and in-person sessions. Schedule a free consultation today to start your next chapter feeling supported, grounded, and well.

My background:
I hold a Master’s in Counseling for Mental Health & Wellness from New York University, and a Master's in Health Arts & Sciences from Goddard College in Vermont. I draw on evidence-based approaches including EMDR and Brainspotting—two mind-body modalities for healing trauma—as well as The Gottman Method for couples therapy. I also incorporate Poetry Therapy and creative arts interventions, all of which are grounded in research and practice. These approaches help clients make meaning of the world and how they think, feel, and relate. My sessions and workshops often integrate literature, lyrics, journaling, and reflection to cultivate insight, healing, and growth.

A longtime journalist and author, I've written and edited about mental and physical health, food, nutrition and holistic living for more than 25 years. After completing my undergraduate degree in journalism at Michigan State University, I enjoyed a successful career as an editor and writer at a number of newspapers and magazines including The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Detroit Free Press and Essence and Health magazines.

All of my training and work have led me to where I am today: a steward for your personal growth and transformation. No problem is too small or too big to help you find the best strategies for change, and the best ways to incorporate those strategies into your life. And there’s no better time to start than now.
