About me
I believe that every child, parent, and family deserves to feel supported, understood, and hopeful, even during life's most challenging seasons. It is a privilege to walk alongside families as they navigate difficulties, celebrate successes, and discover their strengths together.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I primarily work with young children ages 0-5 and their caregivers. My passion is helping children develop the emotional and social skills they need to thrive while supporting parents in building strong, connected relationships with their children.
My journey into this field has been shaped by both my professional experiences and my personal life. I have worked in the mental health field since 2013 in a variety of settings, including crisis intervention, case management, substance abuse treatment, and outpatient counseling. Throughout those experiences, one thing has remained constant: I love seeing families grow stronger and more confident in their ability to overcome challenges.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Troy University and my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I am a Certified AutPlay Provider, trained in DC:0-5, and microcredentialed in Infant Mental Health. I also provide mental health consultation services to local schools and childcare programs and continue to pursue specialized training in play therapy and infant mental health. I am additionally training in Maternal Mental Health.
One of the areas closest to my heart is supporting autistic children and their families. As the mother of a child with autism, I understand that every family's journey is unique. I've experienced the uncertainties, the advocacy, the setbacks, and the incredible victories that come with raising a child with specialized needs. Those experiences have helped shape who I am as both a parent and a therapist and allow me to bring genuine empathy and understanding into my work with families.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and relationship-focused. I believe parents know their children better than anyone, and I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where caregivers feel empowered and children feel understood. Whether we are working through behavioral challenges, emotional concerns, developmental needs, or family stressors, my goal is to help families build on their strengths and create meaningful, lasting change.
When I'm not in the office, you'll usually find me spending time with my husband and our five children. I enjoy crocheting, reading a good mystery novel, and watching B-horror movies with my family. These simple moments remind me of the importance of connection, laughter, and finding joy in everyday life.
If you're looking for a therapist who will meet your family with compassion, understanding, and a genuine desire to help, I would be honored to be part of your journey.
