About me
Hi! My name is Richard Turner, Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked in the Mental Health field for over 15 years, in community settings, public agencies, and non-profit organizations. I have served a diverse population with a variety of needs. I specialize in the male experience. I also enjoy working with couples and individuals who are navigating the difficulties of life. Mental well being is an important factor in our overall quality of life. We each have our own life experience, trauma exposure, and identification. However, we all have the desire to do better and be better. Therapy is a good place to start the journey of being well and healing.
Healing is a journey, and growth is a process. I meet you where you are, staying present and supportive as you work toward becoming your best self. My approach is holistic, honoring the connection between mind, body, and spirit as you move toward a healthier, more balanced life. I am person-centered, focused on your unique story, your goals, and your needs—because therapy should not be one-size-fits-all. I understand that you’re not just looking to talk to a therapist—you want to talk to a real person. Someone who listens, understands, and walks alongside you. I take pride in creating a space where you can be open and authentic.
Becoming your best self doesn’t have to feel like a mystery. I believe you already carry the insight and wisdom needed to grow into who you want to become. Sometimes, what’s needed is support—a gentle nudge, a fresh perspective, or an objective reflection. Therapy is designed to build on your strengths while strengthening the areas that need care.
Your best self is within reach. Choosing therapy is a powerful step forward. Your experiences help shape who you are becoming. At times, we all need support to smooth the path, clarify what’s next, and take those first steps. Therapy can be that starting point—helping you heal the past, navigate the present, and confidently move toward your future.
