About me
I am an experience therapist that offers a nonjudgmental atmosphere, that allows each individual to explore and work through conscious or nonconscious areas that may be keeping them “stuck” and begin to heal from the inside out.
I specialize in working with children and families who have experienced trauma, especially sexual abuse, family violence, and physical abuse. In addition, I offer counseling in areas such as, but not limited to sexual dysfunctions, depression, anger, anxiety, marital issues, military issues, substance abuse and sexual offending. I provide a nonjudgmental and compassionate atmosphere, in which you can safely explore and work feelings, thoughts, images, and beliefs that maybe keeping you from moving forward in life. I provide individual, family, and group counseling services. I serve clients from the ages of 3 to 80 years old. I assist clients in navigating their complex worlds in order to live a healthy life; in a more holistic way of thinking when it comes to their mental health. I believe that all components of your life are interrelated. I hold extensive experience working with adolescents with mental and substances use issues, as well as families. I empower couples and individuals to overcome personal obstacles to improve their relationships. I utilize play therapy when working with children and hold extensive experience in working with youth placed in foster care and adoption. My other areas of expertise include Attention Deficit Disorder, Grief and Bereavement, Anger Management, Domestic Violence, Trauma recovery, Mood Disorder, Adjustment to medical conditions and sexual abuse. I am eclectic in my orientation. I offer a holistic, integrative approach to Client-Centered Therapy, the use of traditional Psychodynamic and Family Systems work, Cognitive Behavioral techniques, tempered with practical solutions and concrete goals. I also work collaboratively with physicians, psychiatrics, and social workers to provide optimum level of care.
