About me
I am a licensed clinical therapist and 26-year retired Air Force veteran dedicated to helping individuals ages 16 and older overcome emotional challenges, develop healthy coping skills, strengthen relationships, and move forward with confidence.
I am Dr. Rhonda J. Beckwith, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, empowerment coach, author, speaker, and 26-year retired United States Air Force veteran. I provide therapy to individuals and couples ages 16 and older through Headway and offer personal development and empowerment coaching through Boldly Empowered Coaching LLC.
I understand that beginning therapy can feel unfamiliar or even intimidating. My goal is to create a welcoming, confidential, and nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly, feel heard, and explore your concerns at a pace that feels comfortable. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, grief, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, caregiver strain, workplace challenges, trauma-related concerns, and major life transitions. I also support individuals who may appear strong and capable to others but privately feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or uncertain about what comes next.
My therapeutic style is compassionate, practical, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you recognize and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. Through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, we may focus on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and healthier communication. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can help you make room for difficult emotions, clarify what truly matters to you, and take meaningful action that aligns with your values.
Self-compassion is also an important part of my work. Many people speak to themselves in ways they would never speak to someone they love. Together, we can address harsh self-criticism, shame, perfectionism, and feelings of inadequacy while developing a more patient, balanced, and supportive relationship with yourself.
Therapy with me is not about judging your past or telling you how to live your life. It is about helping you understand your experiences, identify patterns that may no longer serve you, strengthen your coping skills, and make informed choices about your future. We will work together to establish realistic goals and develop strategies you can apply in your everyday life.
Whether you are facing a difficult season, healing from painful experiences, strengthening your relationships, or simply ready to understand yourself more fully, you do not have to navigate the process alone. I would be honored to support you as you build resilience, establish healthy boundaries, reconnect with your strengths, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
