About me

I help women and neurodivergent adults overcome self-doubt, recover from toxic relationships, and live with clarity and confidence.

About Me:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in the state of Texas. I practice under the supervision of Donald Cook, LPC-S, LCDC. I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Brandman University and my Master’s in Counseling from West Texas A&M University. My background includes extensive training in trauma-informed care and years of experience supporting individuals affected by trauma, neurodivergence, and substance use. I have worked in both community mental health and private practice settings, providing individual counseling, group therapy, and recovery support.
It is exhausting to feel like you have to hold it all together. Maybe you are the one everyone depends on, but inside you feel worn down, anxious, or unsure of who you are anymore. Perhaps you have lived through difficult relationships, carried the weight of old hurts, or learned to hide parts of yourself to get by. You may be longing to stop people pleasing, to quiet the constant self-doubt, and to finally feel safe, seen, and valued.
In my office, you can show up exactly as you are, even in the messiest seasons of your life. You are the expert in your own story, and I will walk beside you, offering support, structure, and tools when you need them, and space to lead the process when you are ready. You do not have to face this alone.

My Origins and Specialty Areas:
From a young age, I was drawn to understanding the complexities of human behavior and how people can heal and grow through support and connection. This curiosity shaped my path into counseling and still influences how I work today.
My primary specialty is in addiction and substance use disorders, where I help individuals break free from the grip of addiction and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. I also have a strong interest in working with women, particularly in addressing issues unique to women’s mental and emotional health. In addition, I work with clients navigating trauma recovery, relationship challenges, ADHD, autism, self-esteem issues, and other concerns that affect day-to-day functioning.

How I Work:
My work is very person centered. I believe therapy works best when you are in the driver’s seat. You guide the process, but when structure and direction are what you need, I can provide that too. I see every client as the expert in their own life, and my role is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences honestly.
I integrate a variety of approaches tailored to each person’s needs, including person-centered therapy, psychodynamic exploration, somatic awareness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness practices. I also use strengths-based approaches to help clients identify and build on their inner resources. For neurodivergent clients, I offer practical strategies for managing executive functioning, sensory sensitivities, and life organization while honoring their unique strengths.

Specialties and Populations Served:
I primarily work with:
- Adults navigating trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, burnout, or major life transitions
- Women seeking to build self-worth, set healthy boundaries, and live more authentically
- Neurodivergent adults, especially those with ADHD or autism, who want strategies for daily life and emotional regulation
- Individuals in recovery from substance use or contemplating change in their relationship with substances
- Survivors of narcissistic abuse or toxic relationships who want to reclaim their voice and autonomy

What You Can Expect in Therapy:
In your first session, we will focus on getting to know you, exploring your goals for therapy, and identifying what has been working and not working in your life so far. You set the pace, and we adjust along the way to fit your needs. Some clients prefer to begin with skill building and concrete tools, while others want to dive into deeper emotional work right away.

Over time, you can expect:
- A safe space where you can be your authentic self without judgment
- Practical coping strategies you can use right away
- Insight into how past experiences influence your present challenges
- Support in breaking old cycles and building patterns that match your values
- A collaborative relationship where your input shapes the work we do

Insurance and Payment:
As an LPC-Associate, I cannot bill insurance under my own license. However, through my group practice, some insurance companies allow supervisory billing. Availability of this option depends on your specific plan, so I always recommend confirming with your provider in advance.
My self-pay rate is $100 per session. I can also provide a superbill, which is an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. With this option, clients pay upfront and then request reimbursement from their insurance provider. Coverage varies, so it is best to check with your insurer before starting therapy.

My Philosophy:
The client and therapist fit is essential to successful work in therapy, which is why there is never any pressure to book with me. My priority is helping you find the provider who is the best match for you, even if that is not me.
I believe in creating a space where you can be fully yourself, whether you feel put together or completely undone. This is a place for honesty, healing, and growth. Together, we will explore what matters most to you, strengthen your ability to navigate life’s challenges, and create a life that feels more aligned with your true self.

A Personal Note:
Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and children, traveling, trying new restaurants, reading, writing stories, tending to my houseplants, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and playing video games. I believe in lifelong learning and in the importance of balance, and I bring that perspective into my work with clients. Each step in the healing process, no matter how small, is a victory. I am honored to be part of your journey toward personal growth, self-empowerment, and lasting change.
