I believe that meeting a client where they are at, building a close relationship, and working together on the hope of healing.

I began working with families as a family liaison with Developmental Pathways in 1996 after my son was born with an intellectual and developmental disability. I was a form of support and information for other parents going through having a child with a disability.
I have also served as a mentor for a group that works with girls and women who have been rescued from sex trafficking. This has become an area of passion for me. I believe that even in the darkest of places, that with compassion, empathy, and encouragement, a person can come out on the other side of hope.
I now work as a therapist with a strong need to meet my client where they are and walk with them through the pains of the past. This lets the client know that they are not alone, there is compassion, and there is empathy. The client can then take responsibility for where they are now, and move past the pain, into hope and healing.
I firmly believe in strong communication skills. I also believe that these are not taught, they are learned by our environment. If the environment that we reside in does not have good communication skills, then we lack them. We learn what our environment teaches us, and we take it into our life. If what we learn is dysfunctional we suffer in our relationships. I teach active listening, understanding, and validation. These are the basics for good communication.
I am a compassionate, empathetic counselor, that will walk with with you through your journey to healing. I promote and teach the skills needed for good communication. Please see the list of area's I treat.
