About me

Does it feel like your family is constantly navigating "big behaviors," school stress, or high-stakes transitions? I’m Rebecca Sherfey, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) dedicated to helping you find steady ground when life feels overwhelming. Whether your child is struggling to regulate, your teen is withdrawing, or you are facing individual burnout, I bridge the gap between clinical expertise and real-world solutions. My goal is to help you move from "just getting through the day" to a place of genuine connection and resilience.

My style is grounded and direct, yet warm. I believe therapy is a collaborative process where we look at the whole system—your family, your school, and your environment. Whether we meet in my Johnson City office or via secure telehealth, our goal is to build practical tools that lead to genuine reconnection and resilience. I’ve structured my practice to support the specific hurdles families face today:
Pathways for Parents & Children (Ages 0-9): I specialize in play-based interventions for childhood "big behaviors" and emotional regulation. I don’t just work with the child; I partner with parents and provide strategic IEP/504 advocacy to ensure your child is supported at home and in the classroom.
Pathways for Adolescents: I provide a steady space for teens to navigate social anxiety, academic pressure, and the complex identity shifts of modern adolescence.
Pathways for Individuals: I help adults break generational cycles, heal inner-child wounds, and recover from the exhaustion of professional or parental burnout.
Finding a therapist is about finding a "fit." I invite you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to see if we are the right match for your journey toward steady ground.
