About me

Providing psychotherapeutic clinical consultation that focuses on trauma, identity, attachment, & patterned behaviors. Certified in various evidence-based approaches and aware of the fallibility of our shared human condition.

Therapeutic consultation is collaborative work that considers the life experiences, patterns, relationships, and beliefs that have shaped and currently influence one’s ways of being in the world. Consultation is an integrative and holistic approach to better understanding these patterns without pathologizing, and with energy dedicated to resolving patterns that cause distress.

I am committed to creating a safe space for you to explore the challenges that currently bring you to this point in life. We will work together to discover your innate strengths and values, practice new skills, and understand your nervous system needs with the hope that this will empower you to make the changes you desire. We will explore patterns, identify goals, and clarify beliefs to expand your comfort zone and support your healing.

My goal is to create a therapeutic environment that facilitates growth, insights, and change. I am trained within a variety of treatment, research, and wellbeing paradigms and use a holistic and integrative approach to determine the methodologies and tools that best fit your needs. After more than 15 years of dedicated and positive therapeutic work, I received a complaint from a client seven years after discharge. I know first-hand how circumstances can shift to leave us feeling broken. Maintaining an undismayed kindness has been a challenge, especially in this post COVID world where systems fail us. Years later, I still believe what Jung wrote: "As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being."

The therapeutic process may challenge assumptions or perceptions, as well as propose different ways to view, think about, or manage situations you present during your session(s). During the course of consultation, I will use therapeutic approaches, evidence-based models, research, and draw from conciliatory sciences to support interventions based on the challenges you present, your choices and feedback, as well as providing an informed assessment of what may benefit you.

Consultation is a collaboration. Active participation in the planning process is important. You are the expert in what you want to accomplish through consultation. I may suggest homework, scripts/rehearsals, or resources for you to build and practice new skills and to help you reach your identified goals. As with any new skill, practice is pivotal.

Using new skills can be easier when you pair these practices with established healthy habits. Often, we are most skeptical of the skills that may be of most benefit, as these are often unfamiliar and initially outside of our comfort zone. We grow through these challenges and create new comfort zones around new habits of thought, feeling, and behavior using interpersonal neurobiology, polyvagal theory, positive psychology paradigms, resiliency building, and constructive problem-solving buoyed by years of experience and research and fueled by your own truth.

Therapeutic Consultation can alter the equilibrium in any person. It is a personal exploration and may lead to changes in life perspectives and decision making. It IS hard work.
