About me
As a mental health and substance abuse counselor, I provide real support and guidance for every stage of life, helping you through trauma, recovery, and lasting change while healing, growing, and overcoming life's obstacles right by your side every step of the way. I provide a space where a person can feel comfortable and safe in the next steps of their journey.
I am a registered mental health counseling intern under provisional licensure with a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Capella University, where I received CACREP-accredited training. I am a certified dialectical behavioral therapist (C-DBT), a certified trauma professional (CTP), trained to effectively use eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and a Reiki master. My background in psychology and sociology, combined with diverse clinical and community-based experience, has shaped a holistic and compassionate approach to care. I currently provide counseling services in a community mental health setting, working with individuals navigating substance use, co-occurring disorders, and a range of mental health concerns. I utilize evidence-based practices and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support each client’s unique path toward healing and recovery.
Throughout my clinical training and professional experience, I have worked with individuals across the lifespan, offering individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and comprehensive assessments. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. My approach is grounded in unconditional positive regard, and I tailor treatment plans to meet each person’s specific needs, goals, and lived experiences.
I have extensive experience working with individuals affected by trauma, substance use, family challenges, and systemic barriers. My background in child welfare and case management has given me a deep understanding of the impact of adversity, including abuse, neglect, and instability. I take a trauma-informed approach to therapy, helping clients build resilience, develop coping strategies, and regain a sense of control in their lives.
In addition to my clinical work, I have facilitated psychoeducational and therapeutic groups, including intensive outpatient substance use programs and parenting support. I am passionate about helping clients gain insight into their behaviors, strengthen decision-making skills, and foster meaningful, lasting change. My work is guided by empathy, cultural awareness, and a commitment to ethical, client-centered care.
I believe that healing begins with connection, and I am dedicated to walking alongside my clients as they navigate life’s challenges. Whether you are seeking support for mental health concerns, substance use, or personal growth, I am here to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered on your journey.
