About me
I am a queer psychotherapist working with individuals of all identities to cope with issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and living the LGBTQ life.
Hello! I’m Rachel, and welcome to therapy! If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward, therapy can be a space to better understand what you're going through and begin creating meaningful change.
I’m a queer psychotherapist trained in clinical social work and trauma-informed care. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ clients and also welcome individuals of all identities who are navigating identity exploration, depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma including CPTSD/PTSD, and more.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s needs. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood so we can explore what’s bringing you to therapy and work toward meaningful change. Together, we may focus on understanding patterns in your thoughts and relationships, processing difficult (and happy!) experiences, and developing tools that help you move through life with greater clarity and resilience.
My work is grounded in trauma-informed care and anti-oppressive practice. I recognize that many challenges people face are shaped by both personal experiences and broader social contexts. Therapy can be a place to explore and acknowledge those influences while focusing on practical steps toward healing and growth.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to your goals, preferences, and lived experiences. I also recognize that many neurodivergent individuals benefit from creative adaptations to coping strategies, therapeutic tools, and ways of processing experiences that were originally designed with neurotypical and allistic individuals in mind. We’ll celebrate your individuality and work with it. Whether we are exploring the past, navigating present challenges, or building toward the future, therapy is a collaborative process and we will move at a pace that feels supportive and manageable for you.
If you’re considering starting therapy, you’re welcome to reach out. Finding the right therapist is an important step, and I’m happy to talk with you about what you’re looking for and whether working together might feel like a good fit.
Sending that first email can feel like the hardest step, and reaching out takes real courage — courage that’s already inside you.
