About me
I am a licensed Marriage and Family therapy who is passionate about working with adolescent and adult individuals, couples and families. I pride myself on my ability to help clients learn to better manage their relationships, understand themselves and the challenges that keep them feeling stuck in life.
Hello! My name is Rachael and I have several years of experience in the field of mental health working in agencies, schools, group homes and private practices. Empathy is my strength and I utilize this, warmth, validation, and honesty in working with clients to help them create the change they've been longing to achieve but maybe thought wasn't possible. Whether you're seeking therapy to process and learn to cope with painful life experiences, depression, anxiety, body image and eating concerns, strained family relationships, a partnership where you both just can't seem to connect or see eye to eye like you used to - I'd love to help! My training has allowed me to view mental health concerns and life's struggles in a way that takes into consideration not only you as an individual, but the relationships within your life and how they both positively and negatively impact you. I'm here to provide support, strategies, a calming presence and an empathetic ear to help facilitate meaningful change in your life and show you that we're all doing the best that we can every day, and that we can learn lessons and find glimmers of hope in our everyday existence. I'm adept at helping my clients reframe difficult thoughts that can overtake the mind and impact your ability to have the happy, healthy life that you deserve. I can help clients recognize that our perceptions are our reality, but maybe at times we can benefit from shifting our perspectives to allow us to see beyond the confines that we, and others, have created for us. We are an amalgamation of both our past and present lives, but that doesn't have to dictate the narrative of our future if it isn't serving us. I primarily utilize talk therapy while pulling from a variety of different types of therapies and treatment interventions to provide you the best care possible. Sessions are led by you because only you are the expert in your lived experience. If you share your story with me, I'll be by your side for each chapter and help you construct the ending that you'd always hoped for, and maybe didn't think would ever be possible, because I know that you are capable of whatever it is you're seeking to create. I hold my clients accountable in the kindest of ways, because I know that rationalizing and justifying unhealthy or harmful behaviors in ourselves, or that have been done to us by others, doesn't benefit anyone. I do not work with couples that are actively involved in a domestic violence situation, but I strive to assist all of my clients in distancing or removing themselves from dangerous situations. If you are seeking to leave or have recently left a relationship like this, I'm here to help. If you're struggling with substance use, eating disorders, or other harmful behaviors, I'd love to support you in moving towards health. If you've been taught by others and their misguided teachings that you aren't good enough, or aren't deserving of all of the great things that life has to offer you, I'm here for you. If any of this resonates with you, please reach out to discuss your concerns with me so I can ensure that I'd be a good fit for you and your specific needs.
