About me
I am a highly motivated and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is committed to helping men and women live more fulfilling lives despite life challenges/transitions, sadness, anger, and/or stresses. I particularly have a passion for work with college age men and women, and adult women who struggle in areas around: self-esteem issues, life transitions, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, fertility issues, marital issues, parental issues, and relationship issues
Life can be hard enough without the added pressure of living up to judgements, opinions, and expectations. In the hustle and bustle, there’s little time to think for yourself. There’s even less time to take care of yourself when you must be there for so many others first. It is amazing that you are holding things together for everyone. However, what if you could take even better care of everyone else by putting yourself first? Think about it. Before a flight takes off, there is a safety brief where the adults are encouraged in the event of an emergency to put on their oxygen masks first. This best equips the adult to help their child through the emergency. Unfortunately, no one has ever given you the safety brief for your mental health. While you may feel you have no choice but to sacrifice yourself to benefit others, the truth is that you and those who rely on you have many choices. It’s time to take the necessary steps to balance your life. It’s time to stop sacrificing yourself and instead start making sacrifices that empower self. Are you not tired of being tired? Are you not tired of trying and getting nowhere? Are you not tired of frustration, stress, sadness, sleepless nights, and poor eating habits all getting the better of you? You are not alone, and I am here to help.
I have been there myself. More importantly, I overcame it all and have since been instrumental in helping so many others do the same. We are born into this life with a story line that we had no part in writing. I encourage you to take the keyboard back, re-write that story, and exert the power deep within to confidently build upon your life. The good news is that you don’t have to do it by yourself. After all, it can be quite difficult to grow out of tough situations on our own because of our frame of reference. Our perspective can disable us from seeing things fairly and objectively. At this point in your life’s journey, it benefits you to accept help in changing your perspective. It’s time for someone who will tell you what you need to hear for your own empowerment and not what they think you want to hear.
I am devoted to seeing everyone thrive according to their abilities, needs and desires. There is no “cookie cutter” approach to life’s successes. We only need to be honest with ourselves and those around us about who we are. There are many different therapeutic modalities centered around self-love, self-empowerment, and healing. These areas of growth are powerful and provide a highly beneficial starting point for effective decision making and problem solving. With more than 17 years of professional experience and an abundance of applicable life experiences that I have overcome, I have a humble, hope-filled, and empowerment-driven approach. No one has a perfect life, and it takes courage to talk about the parts that are “negative” with a stranger. Therefore, I am always dedicated to making a safe and supportive space for you to process your thoughts and feelings. I am a therapist by profession, but you can expect to have a “professional friend”.
