About me
If you're carrying something from childhood that's still shaping how you show up at work, in your relationships, or in your own skin, you're not alone. A lot of the adults I work with grew up in homes where something wasn't right and never had the space to process it. I help survivors of sexual abuse, adults with unresolved childhood trauma, and clients navigating depression, anxiety, anger, and relationship strain. In session, I'm direct, warm, and not easily shocked. I use Cognitive Processing Therapy, trauma-focused CBT, and schema work to help rebuild the beliefs you formed when you were too young to know better. I'm continuing my training through doctoral study in Community Care and Counseling with a focus in Traumatology, which keeps the work I do with you grounded in the most current research on trauma recovery.
My early career was in forensic work, which gave me a clinical understanding of how sexual harm is learned and passed on. That perspective shapes how I work with survivors today, with a deep belief that what happened to you doesn't define what's possible for you. In session, I'm direct, warm, and not easily shocked. I've worked with male and female, juvenile and adult, sex offenders and sexual trauma/abuse victims. As a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider, I understand that your past may have led you to your offending thoughts and behaviors, but I want to help to recover from your own abuse and understand how to change your future. No judgement. Just understanding and a path forward. For the victims of sexual abuse and trauma, I offer a compassionate ear and map to untangle your personal self-image and healing from the damage of abuse.
In our first session, I'll do whatever I can to help you feel relaxed and safe. I lean on humor and easy conversation, and you set the pace on what you share. We'll talk about what brought you in, what you're hoping for, and the goals that matter to you. You don't need a script. My job is to listen and help you start moving forward.
