About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and Pennsylvania. I am trained in Trauma Focused CBT, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitve Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I am experienced in working with many populations (children, adolescents, and adults) and with a variety of mental health and behavior related issues (personality disorders, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders, Trauma, substance abuse, grief and loss, marriage and family, stages of life, Austism Spectrum Disorder, and many more). I am trained in working with toxic relationships and helping individuals navigate Narcissistic abuse within romantic, family, and occupational relationships.

My name is Pennie and I created Parts and Patterns Psychotherapy, PLLC to help individuals heal parts and change patterns within themselves. I am licensed in Pennsylvania and Virginia. I obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in Psychology with a minor in Sociology in 2005. I obtained a Masters of Arts degree in Community Agency Counseling from Hampton University in Virginia in 2009. I attended Capella University in Indiana for a Ph.D in Counseling Studies and completed All but Dissertation in 2015. My favorite treatment modalities include Internal Family Systems therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I believe therapy works best when it balances deep insight with practical tools. I don’t just sit back and nod; I’m an active collaborator in your healing. My approach is "come as you are"—warm, non-judgmental, and focused on helping you build a life worth living. I am a trauma-informed therapist who believes in a bottom-up approach—meaning we work with both the mind and the body to help your nervous system find its way back to a state of safety and ease.
