About me

I am a therapist licensed in both Alabama and Pennsylvania with more than 14 years of experience in the mental health field. I was born and raised in Alabama and moved to Pennsylvania about two years ago for work. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with people facing a wide range of challenges, including addiction, depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, life transitions, LGBTQ+ concerns, and foster care and adoption-related issues.

Some of these areas are not only professional specialties for me, but also deeply personal parts of my life. I am both a foster parent and an adoptive parent, and I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community. These experiences have shaped who I am and how I show up as a therapist. I also care deeply about social justice and about creating a space where people feel safe, affirmed, understood, and never judged.

My therapy style is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I don’t believe therapy is about telling people how to live their lives. Instead, I see it as walking alongside you, helping you make sense of your experiences, discover your strengths, and move toward the kind of life you want for yourself. I am a strong listener, and I believe that feeling truly heard can be a powerful part of healing.

My approach is grounded primarily in a cognitive framework, which means I pay close attention to how you think about yourself, the world around you, and the situations you face. I also believe our past experiences play an important role in shaping those beliefs and patterns. Along with that insight, I use cognitive-behavioral strategies to help turn awareness into action through practical, collaborative goals that support change between sessions.

This work is especially meaningful to me because I know what it is like to struggle. Before becoming a therapist, I was a client myself, and that experience had a lasting impact on me. It helped lead me to this profession and continues to shape the empathy, humility, and authenticity I bring into the therapy room. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to reach out for help, and I don’t take that trust lightly.

Taking the first step toward change takes courage. If you are ready, I would be honored to walk alongside you, support you, and help you navigate whatever challenges you may be facing.

I look forward to working with you.
