About me
I am a Christian counselor who has a passion for working with people who have experienced trauma or loss.
I have worked as a counselor for 14 years, including in a community mental health center, as a pregnancy counselor, and in a residential addictions treatment program for adults. My overall counseling approach is psychodynamic -- that is, I like to get to the root of the problem, whether it's depression, anxiety, trauma or something else. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for the treatment of trauma, including advanced training for attachment issues, chronic pain/somatic disorders, and complex PTSD.
