“You can't start the next chapter of your life, if you keep rereading the last one." Sometimes we feel "stuck", like we can't get past something. This can be the break up of a relationship, or a death, or just moving on from some significant event that changed us. We feel like we 'should' be moving on, and criticize ourselves for not, but it doesn't help. In fact, often, it can feel as if we have 'lost ourselves', and that we don't even know who we are anymore. Therapy can help you find yourself again.
My expertise is working with life transitions, trauma, & the issues that result - depression, anxiety, grief/loss & others. Experiencing trauma or witnessing trauma leaves behind anxiety, nightmares, physical ailments, trouble with sleeping & appetite, & sometimes flashbacks. I have worked with healthcare professionals, law enforcement and firefighters.
With me, you will find a down to earth place to heal, to work thru concerns, to process change, to talk about the past, and to work on feeling better. There are times of talking, and of silence. There are times of teaching, and times of sorting emotional stuff out into piles- what to keep, what to let go of. And there are times of laughing, and of celebration. But most importantly, therapy is your time. I am a real person, helping other real people. We will work together.
