About me
My name is Patricia King. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Albany, Georgia, with over 12 years' experience helping clients navigate life’s challenges and achieve their goals. My therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from a Person-Centered perspective. I believe in helping clients to develop the tools/techniques needed to deal with complicated feelings and situations. My initial focus is to build therapeutic relationships in which clients feel safe and empowered to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I specialize in working with PTSD, Anxiety Disorders, and Depression while utilizing techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, and much more. As time progresses, the overall goal is to help clients gain insight and develop coping skills. I am passionate about empowering clients to live more fulfilled lives.
My journey began at Troy University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Later, I enrolled in and completed a Master of Science in Vocational Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at Thomas University. Since graduating, I’ve worked in many areas, including developmental disabilities, geriatric, behavioral health, and vocational rehabilitation. I’ve had the opportunity to experience working as a mental health professional, behavioral specialist, developmental disability professional, and assessor.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I are devoted to providing a loving and enriched environment for our two boys, ages 13 and 15.
I look forward to meeting with you.
