About me
My name is Omar, and I am a clinical social worker. Originally from Mexico City and now a Chicago resident for over 25 years, I graduated from Loyola University and have worked in social services for more than a decade.
I strongly believe that healing happens through understanding, connection, and curiosity. My work is grounded in a relational, meaning-centered approach while integrating evidence-based practices tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.
As a proud immigrant and member of the LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and neurodiverse communities, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to equity, inclusion, and compassionate care.
My approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, drawing from psychodynamic therapy, CBT, DBT, IFS, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and somatic practices. Rather than adhering rigidly to any one modality, I thoughtfully integrate different therapeutic approaches to meet clients where they are and support their unique journey toward healing, growth, and self-understanding.
