About me

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 11 years of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and life's toughest transitions — through a warm, inclusive, and solution-focused approach that treats the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

Hi, I'm Olesea Beyer, and I'm so glad you're here!

I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 11 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in both hospital and outpatient settings. I specialize in psychiatric medication management, certain brain stimulation therapies, and individual and family therapy — helping patients navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, sleep issues, mood swings, and the everyday and not-so-everyday challenges that bring people to seek support.

I believe good mental health care isn't one-size-fits-all. In our work together, I'll take the time to understand your full picture — your physical health, personal and family history, cultural background, developmental differences, values, and individual preferences — because these aren't just background details, they're the foundation of care that actually fits you. Patients often describe me as warm, knowledgeable, efficient, and genuinely curious about the people I work with.

I hold a Women's Health certification and am pursuing a certification in pediatric mental health. I'm a member of The Menopause Society, the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and the Maryland Academy of Advanced Practice Clinicians — reflecting my ongoing commitment to evidence-based, high-quality care.

I warmly welcome individuals across the full spectrum of gender identity, sexual orientation, neurodevelopment, and ability. My approach is inclusive, respectful, and neurodivergence-affirming, and I strive to create a space where you and your family feel truly heard.

Your first session with me is dedicated to getting to know you — what brought you in, your history, and what you're hoping for — so that together, we can figure out the best path forward, whether that's therapy, medication, further assessment, or a combination of approaches. I'll walk you through your options every step of the way.

I see patients in person at my Chevy Chase, MD office, as well as via telehealth throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia. I speak English and Romanian.

Outside the office, I enjoy reading, spending time in nature, exploring new places, and bringing people together over good conversation and good food — I even founded a philosophy discussion group called The Village. I bring that same curiosity and love of connection into every session with my patients.
