About me
Hi, my name is Noah. I am the director of a group practice, NYC Cognitive Therapy, in Manhattan. We are a team of 10 male & female therapists that are I passionate about helping people heal from depression, anxiety & relationship problems. We work with adolescents, adults, and couples, and offer group therapy.
I’ve dedicated my life to finding the best, evidence-based tools to help you overcome depression, anxiety and relationship problems. If you are suffering from depression and anxiety, I would love to help you heal from the mental and physical exhaustion and torment they cause, so you can feel more inner peace. joy, and connection in your life. Instead of having your life be ruled by sadness and fear, I want you to be able to regain a sense of freedom, getting to do what you want with your time and your life.
I am the first clinician in to become a Beck Institute CBT Certified Master Clinican (BICBT-CMC). I am also the first clinical social worker in the state of New York to become an Academy-certified Trainer Consultant. I’ve also had intensive training in Trial-Based Cognitive Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy - all beautiful approaches that I really believe in to help people heal from depression, anxiety, and various struggles that life can throw our way. I’ve seen my clients go from a space of shame, terror and feeling a complete loss of control, to getting their life and joy back again.
Pioneered in the early 1960’s by psychiatrist Aaron T. Beck, M.D. (under whom I studied), CT is a relatively fast, pragmatic type of treatment focused on the present and on results. Essentially, it is a method that identifies thoughts that produce negative or painful feelings that are both disturbing and inhibiting and changing those thoughts to produce positive results in emotions and behavior. CBT is the most effective and preferred approaches to psychotherapy and is practiced widely throughout the United States & the world.
