About me

Guided by Experience, Grounded by Care

I’m Nikki Hughs, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and founder of Hughs Healing Counseling, PLLC. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy for first responders, healthcare professionals, high stress careers that can lead to navigating burnout, grief, and complex relational dynamics. My work is grounded in evidence-based care, but always led by empathy, autonomy, and emotional safety. Are you seeking someone that "gets you?"
Whether you're a fire responder carrying the weight of crisis, a professional who’s always “on,” or a neurodivergent adult seeking tools that actually fit—you’re not alone. I offer therapy that’s structured but flexible, practical but deeply human. Together, we’ll work toward clarity, regulation, and a return to self-trust.
My sessions integrate CBT and somatic strategies with real-world tools like emotion wheels, sensory regulation guides, and custom workbooks. I am in the process of building and facilitating peer-led support groups for fire responders—designed to foster connection, resilience, and shared healing. I offer in-person and telehealth sessions. I do not bill insurance, allowing for greater privacy, flexibility, and depth but can provide you with superbill upon request. If you’re ready to move beyond survival mode and into something steadier, I’d be honored to support you.
